Origins Reclaimed is building a new model for water security, food sovereignty, and rural resilience across East Africa, West Africa, and beyond. We are committed to the parts of the world where the gap between what people deserve and what they receive runs deepest. Origins Reclaimed exists to stand with those communities, not for a single project cycle, but for as long as it takes to build something that lasts.
There are many other humanitarians in the world, and we are not trying to do this alone. All change starts at the level of the human heart and human connection. That is why we convene the people, partners, and expertise needed to make lasting change possible, grounded in decades of implementation science research into what makes systems-level change actually take hold. We are an early-stage organization with established relationships across our partner regions, and we are continually expanding that network as our programs grow.

Water insecurity across Africa is rarely a story about scarcity, or even a story about missing solutions. Effective, locally-grounded approaches to water access already exist. What's missing is investment at scale. Currently, only $10 to $19 billion is invested in African water infrastructure each year, against an estimated need of $30 to $64 billion annually to meet basic water security targets for the continent. Of Africa's 54 countries, only 13 have reached even a modest level of water security. Centralized funding systems have consistently failed to close that gap, leaving water access dependent on whichever small-scale effort happens to reach a given village. In Kenya's highland communities, seasonal rainfall is often abundant, but without the infrastructure to harvest and store it, that water is lost before it can reach a single household.
The cost of that gap falls hardest on women and children. When water points are missing or break down, the burden of finding water doesn't disappear. It shifts onto the backs of women and girls, who walk farther, often for hours a day, to reach the next available source. That walk carries real danger: exposure to assault, injury on unsafe terrain, and time lost that keeps girls out of school and women out of income-generating work. Children left without safe water close to home face their own risks, from waterborne illness to the hours spent away from caregivers while water is collected. Water insecurity does not stay contained to a single problem. It moves through a family's health, a girl's education, a woman's safety, and a community's stability, all at once.
Origins Reclaimed's Water Support Network exists to close that funding and scale gap. We convene local leaders, technical experts, and partner organizations to bring proven, locally-grounded solutions to the scale centralized systems have failed to deliver. We are already on the ground in Kenya, in ongoing, direct contact with our partners, and we are expanding that network across the region as the program grows.

In The Gambia, Origins Reclaimed is partnering with local farmers to bring agricultural knowledge directly into schools, connecting the next generation to the land and the food systems that sustain their communities. This work is grounded in established relationships with farmers on the ground, and we are convening additional partners as the program grows.
This is about more than agricultural skills. Across The Gambia, limited economic opportunity drives many young people to leave the country in search of a future they don't see available at home. By bringing farming into the classroom, with the dignity and possibility it deserves, this program aims to change that calculation. We want the next generation to see agriculture not as something to escape, but as a path to economic opportunity, ownership, and a future worth staying for.
Water access at the school remains a critical, unmet need. Children learn in a building without reliable water, a basic gap that stands between this program and where it needs to go.

Southern Nigeria holds some of the highest rates of forest loss in the world, with an estimated 200,000 to 250,000 hectares lost each year in regions like Cross River, Edo, Ondo, and the Niger Delta. This is not a story of people who don't understand the cost of losing their forests. It is a story of communities facing a system that makes clearing land the economically rational choice, while the alternatives have never been brought to them at a scale that could compete.
Origins Reclaimed is developing ROOTS (Regenerative Outcomes through On-the-ground Training Systems and Implementation Support), a model designed to change that calculation. Rather than asking communities to choose between income and conservation, ROOTS integrates agroforestry, food forests, and permaculture into systems that generate sustainable livelihoods while restoring degraded land, paired with the ongoing training and support that past restoration efforts have lacked. The model is being designed and developed in direct partnership with Nigerian agricultural scientists, university faculty, and local crop management experts, alongside existing relationships with farmers, extension officers, and government ministries.
This program is ready to move from design to pilot implementation. What it needs now is the funding to establish demonstration sites and begin training alongside our Nigerian partners, the gap between this program and where it needs to go.
Alongside this work, Origins Reclaimed advocates for rural Nigerian communities whose voices are too often absent from the policy decisions made about their own land, ensuring restoration efforts strengthen local governance rather than bypass it. This work represents the kind of system-level change Origins Reclaimed exists to bring to scale: proven approaches, ready communities, and the investment to finally close the distance between them.
Your tax-deductible contributions will help our non-profit organization fund land access, site development, and the governance infrastructure that makes this model manifest for the local communities and then become replicable to scale across the America. Every dollar stays in the work.
We need people with backgrounds in law, land use, agroforestry, soil science, community organizing, grant writing, web development, social media outreach, advocacy, and education. If you have expertise to offer, contact us — we will find a meaningful place for it.
We are actively building relationships with private donors, universities, allied nonprofits, mission-aligned developers, faith communities, and local governments. If your organization shares our values, let's talk about what we can build together.
Follow the work as it unfolds. Our Substack newsletter delivers field updates, educational resources, and behind-the-scenes dispatches from the process of building something new. No commitment required — just stay connected and let the work speak for itself.
It’s a win-win ecosystem where everyone grows—financially, spiritually, and ecologically.
Together, we are building a world of self-sustained communities, deeply connected to the Earth and liberated from systems of control and scarcity.

Origins Reclaimed is a registered Florida nonprofit founded in 2025. We are not associated with any political party. We are a collective of practitioners, researchers, and community builders united by a single conviction: that communities deserve the tools, land, and knowledge to meet their own needs — without dependency on extractive systems.
We work at the intersection of land rights, food sovereignty, ecological restoration, and whole-health community design. Our model is integrated by intention: each track reinforces the others, and together they build the structural alternative to systems we believe are both unjust and unsustainable.
