Who We Are

Origins Reclaimed is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building the legal, organizational, and ecological infrastructure for communities that actually work — permanently affordable, food sovereign, and governed by the people who live in them.

What We Are Building

Most movements that share our values fail at the same point: the gap between the vision and the implementation. The food forest gets planted but the land is never legally protected. The community forms but one person holds the title. The school opens but the building has no permits. The investors arrive but the governance was never written down.  We are providing a framework with legal documents, governance protocols, ground lease structures, educational curricula, and a replication pathway.

If you want to understand it in detail, our Model and Vision pages lay it out.

Our model integrates three structures that belong together and are rarely built together:

Community Land Trusts

Conservation Land Trusts

Conservation Land Trusts

Community Land Trusts that hold land in perpetuity for permanently affordable housing and food production — so that the people who steward the land can also live on it, without speculative inflation pricing them out of the community they built.

Conservation Land Trusts

Conservation Land Trusts

Conservation Land Trusts

Conservation Land Trusts that protect the pollinator corridors, watershed buffers, and ecological commons between communities — because the land between human settlements is as important as the land within them.

Syntropic Food Forests

Conservation Land Trusts

Syntropic Food Forests

Syntropic Food Forests managed as productive, living ecosystems rather than maintained landscapes — because food sovereignty begins in the soil, and the soil can be made increasingly rich rather than increasingly depleted.

Why Structure Matters — What We've Learned

The regenerative living movement has no shortage of compelling visions. It has a significant shortage of organizations built to implement those visions with the governance, legal compliance, and financial accountability that protect everyone involved.

We have observed, firsthand, the patterns that cause well-intentioned projects to fail the people they intended to serve:

The owner-steward dynamic in which a charismatic founder or landowner attracts volunteers, investors, and residents — but retains sole control of the land and the decision-making. When that relationship sours, as it almost always eventually does, the people who gave their labor and trust have no recourse. Their contribution disappears with the relationship.

The intentional community fiefdom, in which residents provide significant unpaid or underpaid labor — farming, building, teaching, maintaining — in exchange for housing on land they will never own or have legal security in. This is not community. It is an extractive relationship dressed in the language of shared values.

The private membership association that promises sovereignty and community but is structured, in practice, to serve the financial interests of its founders. These models frequently attract people seeking genuine alternatives while providing legal cover for exactly the kind of private enrichment they claim to oppose.

The personality platform that builds a following around compelling messaging, attracts capital and goodwill, and then fails to honor the legal, financial, and ethical obligations that responsible stewardship requires.

The vision was real. The implementation was not.

Origins Reclaimed was built as the structural alternative to all of these patterns. Our land is held in trust — not by any individual. Our governance is vested in an independent board — not a founder. Our financial decisions are documented and transparent. Our ground leases protect residents' rights in writing, not in promise.

Who We Are For

Origins Reclaimed is for people who have been drawn to the vision of food sovereignty, regenerative community, and ecological stewardship — and who are tired of watching that vision collapse under the weight of personalities, egos, and inadequate structures.

It is for families who want permanently affordable land and housing they can count on, not a handshake agreement that evaporates when the landowner changes their mind.

It is for farmers and land stewards who want to do the work without being exploited for it — who want formal agreements, fair compensation, and legal security rather than the informal arrangements that leave them vulnerable.

It is for donors and land holders who want to know that their contribution is governed by an independent board, documented in compliance with nonprofit law, and structured to outlast any single person's involvement.

It is for communities across the country that understand the CLT model but lack the framework to implement it — who need something replicable rather than something that has to be invented from scratch.

And it is for the next generation, who will inherit either the structures we build now or the absence of them.

Donate Land

We are actively seeking agricultural and semi-agricultural parcels in Central Florida suitable for our first demonstration site. With the goal of establishing land trusts for communities and pollinator corridors in a growing number of states. Conservation easements and bargain sales to the trust may provide significant tax advantages. Contact us to inquire.

Contribute Financially

Every dollar funds the legal, organizational, and educational infrastructure required to move from framework to first operating site. Contributions are tax-deductible.

Volunteer Your Expertise

We are seeking a competent Advisory Council. Florida real estate and nonprofit attorneys, permaculture designers with syntropic experience, grant writers, educators, and soil scientists, to name a few. If you see a role you can fill in producing working models and helping it scale across the country, we want to hear from you.
